    Zoo Birding Expedition
    Go WILD! Go Birding! In honor of World Migratory Bird Day, come to the Amarillo Zoo to explore the tools and techniques to become avid birdwatchers. International Migratory Bird Day celebrates the journey of migratory birds as they make passage between breeding grounds in North America and their wintering grounds in Central and South America. So, bring your binoculars and migrate over to the Zoo to learn about the voyage of birds. Your expedition will include a walk around the lake to see native birds and a journey through the Zoo to meet some of our exotic feather friends.

    Cold Blooded Weekend
    Meet some of our favorite scaly and slimy friends in the Zoo’s education center. You may even have an opportunity to join the “I touched a snake” club!

    Making Animal Enrichement Toys (parrots, big cats, lemurs, spider monkeys)
    Join us as we make toys and treats for our animal friends. Upon completion of the workshop you can watch the animals enjoy your gifts.

    Mom, I want a SNAKE!
    A program especially desgined for parents of a child who wants a pet snake. Zoo educators will help you learn the challenges of owning an exotic pet and guide you to ensuring you make a suitable choice. Learn also how to take care of your new pet properly.
